Jesse Angelo

Founder/CEO

Jesse Angelo is the Founder and CEO of Checker Media.

Previous to Checker, Angelo was the President, Global News and Entertainment, for VICE Media Group. As VICE’s most senior strategic and operational content leader, Angelo was in charge of VICE’s digital publishing channels globally, as well as the company's cable television and distribution businesses. Angelo also oversaw VICE News, which won multiple Peabody Awards, Columbia DuPont Silver Batons, Cannes Lions Grand Prix, and over 20 Emmys under his leadership.

Before VICE, Angelo was the Publisher and CEO of The New York Post, and Chief of Digital Advertising Solutions for parent company News Corp.

A native New Yorker, he graduated magna cum laude from Harvard College with a degree in American History and Literature. He sits on the board of the Craig Newmark Graduate School of Journalism CUNY Foundation, and multiple other philanthropic boards. He co-edited Deadline Artists, two anthologies of America’s greatest newspaper columns.
